The singer and songwriter Sting is one of the most successful musicians ever and says he owes much of his success to his Tyneside roots. He grew up in the shadow of the shipyards, and his musical The Last Ship evokes that past. It’s a moving reflection on a lost Britain and the kind of industrial changes that this country has undergone since his boyhood. The show is coming to London soon, and Laura Kuenssberg caught up with Sting just before he returns to these shores. #bbclaurak
