Major General Turki al-Maliki, spokesperson for the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen, condemned Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia during a press briefing on Thursday, including strikes targeting King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh on October 10. He said the attacks on civilian infrastructure, including airports and oil facilities, were intended to spread fear and threaten regional security. Al-Maliki reported that 17 people were killed and 333 injured in attacks on King Khalid Airport, with the overall death toll from attacks on Saudi airports reaching 19, alongside 364 injuries. He accused unnamed regional countries of helping the Houthis acquire advanced weapons, including ballistic missiles and drones. Al-Maliki said coalition forces had targeted 127 underground tunnels and several missile launchers, as well as facilities in Sanaa, Hodeidah and Dhamar allegedly used to support Houthi military operations. He presented footage of coalition strikes and the interception of cruise missiles and drones, including Shahed and Samad models. Al-Maliki reaffirmed the coalition's commitment to protecting civilians, securing maritime routes and supporting Yemen's internationally recognised government, while demanding an immediate end to Houthi attacks on Saudi territory.
