Nepalese communities in the UK are holding vigils and prayer services for the victims of the devastating floods in the Himalayas, as many mourn relatives who are dead or missing. Promod Bhandari, who grew up in the badly affected village of Tupche, says he has lost dozens of family members and that his entire village has been washed away. Community leaders are co-ordinating support for bereaved families in Britain while raising funds for urgently needed aid in Nepal, even as some cope with missing relatives themselves. At a Hindu temple in London, members of the community gathered in prayer and candlelight vigils, expressing collective grief and solidarity with those affected by the disaster.
