Israeli attacks kill at least eight Palestinians across Gaza despite ceasefire

Israeli forces have killed at least eight Palestinians in the latest attacks across Gaza, including an eight-year-old girl on her way to school and a three-year-old boy in a classroom at a school sheltering civilians. The Israeli military says it launched attacks on Hamas sites in the north after one of its vehicles struck an explosive device. Attacks have continued across Gaza despite a US-brokered ceasefire that took effect in October. The situation remains “extremely fragile”, with Israeli officials “signalling more military options” and the transition to the second phase of the ceasefire agreement remaining contentious.
