Islamabad locked down as Pakistan braces for protests over fuel prices

Pakistan has sealed off major roads into Islamabad as protests over rising fuel prices and other costs prepare to converge on the capital. About 1,500 shipping containers have been deployed, with the city’s Red Zone completely sealed ahead of the planned marches. Further demonstrations are planned by farmers and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf supporters, who are demanding the release of jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
