Police in India have detained thousands of people in a crackdown on protesters demanding the resignation of the country's election commissioner. The Cockroach movement, which organised the protests, has vowed to hold daily demonstrations until its demands are met. Protesters accuse the election commissioner of revising voter rolls in a way that benefited Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ruling party, resulting in the removal of 130 million names. The election commission and Modi's government deny any wrongdoing. Al Jazeera's Neha Poonia reports from a city under lockdown.
