Gaza recovery plan unveiled at UN as Israeli operations continue

The US-led Board of Peace, supported by Donald Trump, has unveiled a six-month, $2.4 billion recovery plan for Gaza at the United Nations General Assembly in New York. Correspondent Kristen Saloomey reports that while the plan has international endorsement, progress is complicated by the Israeli army's continued control of 70% of the Gaza Strip. Meanwhile, on the ground, Ibrahim Al Khalili reports on Israeli drone strikes that killed several Palestinians in Deir al-Balah, Gaza City and Khan Younis, including a targeted strike on a Hamas finance official. Residents in Gaza remain sceptical of diplomatic promises as they face continued violence, shortages of medical care and displacement despite previous ceasefire agreements.
