Gaza's $2.4bn recovery plan unveiled at UN as questions over feasibility remain

The US-led Board of Peace has unveiled a six-month, $2.4 billion recovery plan for Gaza during the United Nations General Assembly in New York. Correspondent Kristen Saloomey reports on the 66 proposed projects, focusing on essential infrastructure including water and sanitation. The broader cost of Gaza's recovery is estimated at $70 billion over a decade. Former Human Rights Watch chief Kenneth Roth criticises the plan, describing it as a “fantasy” that fails to account for the ongoing Israeli occupation and military operations. He also highlights the lack of Palestinian involvement in the process and says no international force would enter Gaza as “occupiers”. The discussion also examines the Trump administration's opposition to the International Criminal Court over investigations into alleged war crimes in Gaza.
