Ukrainian forces reportedly struck energy infrastructure in Chystiakove, Donetsk Oblast, late on Oct. 20, 2026, leading to blackouts in Crimea's Krasnoperekopskyi district. Eyewitnesses reported drone strikes and Russian air defense activity in Crimea before the power outages. A telecommunications site in Luhansk, previously used by Ukrtelecom before Russian occupation, was also hit. Lugacom, a Russian-installed telecom provider, uses the site for technical support and IT services.
