Russian forces launched overnight attacks on Oct. 19, heavily damaging industrial facilities and critical infrastructure across Ukraine. In Irpin, a suburb of Kyiv, a large enterprise reportedly caught fire, with local reports indicating Ecosoft, a water filtration systems manufacturer, sustained damage. Planet Plastic, a producer of polyethylene products, confirmed its facilities were struck and significantly destroyed. The company had previously resumed operations in Irpin in 2025 after its factory was nearly destroyed in 2022, but suspended them in August due to intensified attacks. In Kyiv, telecommunications operator DataGroup reported that a Russian strike destroyed its data center, though services continued via backup infrastructure. The attack on Kyiv killed one person and injured eight, also damaging residential buildings and other sites. Volyn Oblast was also targeted by approximately 15 Russian drones, damaging infrastructure and leaving around 66,000 electricity metering points without power.
