The poll found that 31% of Americans support U.S. military action against Iran, a drop from 37% in March and 34% earlier in August. The decline was particularly noticeable among Republicans, with support falling from 77% in March to 69% in the latest survey.
Trump's overall job approval rating also stood at 33%, matching the lowest level recorded during his presidency. The war's prolonged nature is seen as a significant factor affecting his standing.
Furthermore, 83% of respondents believe the conflict will continue for an extended period, an increase from 80% in a previous poll. The survey included 1,215 U.S. adults and has a margin of error of 3 percentage points.
