Saudi Arabia's civil defense issued emergency alerts for the Abha and Khamis Mushait areas on Thursday, warning residents of potential danger. The National Early Warning Platform for Emergencies had advised people to move to safe locations, stay indoors, and avoid windows and open areas until the danger had passed. Drivers were instructed to pull over safely away from bridges and tall buildings. Later, the civil defense confirmed that the danger had passed in Abha and Khamis Mushait, as well as in Jazan Province. Residents were urged to continue following official instructions and avoid gatherings and photography. The alerts are part of a pattern of similar warnings in Saudi Arabia's southwest, often linked to cross-border drone and missile activity from Yemen.
