UK-based Reds10 Group is expanding into the US market by acquiring a majority stake in MMY US, a vertically integrated modular homebuilder. The deal, announced by the companies, combines Reds10's capital and industrialized building technology with MMY's American manufacturing footprint. This strategic move aims to scale production capacity across the UK and US to approximately 640,000 square feet. Reds10's existing 300,000-square-foot facility in Yorkshire will be complemented by MMY US's current 100,000-square-foot facility in Louisville, Kentucky, and a planned 185,000-square-foot facility in Cleveland. Reds10 CEO Paul Ruddick stated the acquisition provides an established platform to deploy industrialized construction methods into the US housing market, aiming for high-quality, affordable homes. MMY US, which completes about 85% of its construction off-site, builds various housing types, including single-family and multi-family units. The acquisition arrives as governments increasingly offer incentives for modular housing facilities to address the housing affordability crisis and construction labor shortage.
