An Israeli airstrike in Gaza City's Sheikh Radwan neighborhood killed Abdel-Nasser Al-Maqadma, identified by Hamas as the head of its police force in northern Gaza and the governor of the region. Separately, Suleiman Taysir Shammoud died from injuries sustained in an Israeli drone strike in Khan Younis, southern Gaza. A Palestinian medic was also reported killed in a strike in central Gaza, and another police officer died from injuries from a prior attack. Israel has stated that it targets Hamas police members, whom it considers part of the armed wing posing threats. Hamas asserts these attacks aim to create chaos and violate the ceasefire. The Gaza Health Ministry reported the death toll from the ongoing conflict has risen to 73,318, with 173,961 injured.
