The Muslim World League has condemned Israel's announcement of a tender for the construction of 1,234 settlement units under its E1 settlement plan in the occupied West Bank. Secretary-General and Chairman of the Muslim Scholars Association, Mohammed Al-Issa, stated that the project poses a threat to Palestinian statehood and is aimed at altering the geographic and demographic character of the occupied Palestinian territory. He called for international pressure to halt Israel's settlement policies and preserve a two-state solution.
Al-Issa further denounced all illegal Israeli colonial policies in the occupied Palestinian territory and Israel's support for violations and acts of violence perpetrated by colonists against Palestinians and their property. He described this as part of an ongoing Israeli approach of violating international laws and resolutions and undermining peace efforts.
He commended the statement issued by the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, Qatar, and Egypt, expressing their solidarity with the Palestinian people and their support for establishing an independent and sovereign Palestinian state, which he views as the only path to a just and lasting peace.
