The Lembaga Lebuhraya Malaysia (LLM) stated it is addressing the issue with application provider Prosignal Consortium. The increase in users came after Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim recommended that the public consider using a locally developed navigation application instead of Waze, citing data security and sovereignty concerns. Civil servants have been banned from using Waze during official duties following a decision by the National Cyber Security Committee (JKSN).
