Iraq, UAE foreign ministers call for regional dialogue

Hussein emphasized that dialogue is the best way to resolve disputes and avoid escalation, warning of the disastrous repercussions of any regional conflict. He stressed the importance of building stability through common ground and regional dialogue to safeguard mutual interests. Al-Marar praised the strong relations between the UAE and Iraq, highlighting the necessity of development and political stability in a secure environment and the importance of joint coordination to enhance regional security.

The ministers also reviewed Iraq's opposition to using its territory for attacks on neighboring countries and its commitment to state sovereignty. The UAE minister condemned a recent attack on the home of Iraqi Kurdistan President Nechirvan Barzani in Duhok, reiterating the UAE's rejection of violence that undermines security and stability. This comes after a joint statement from several Gulf states and Jordan urging Iraq to stop attacks launched from its territory.
