Ebrahim Azizi, who heads Iran’s parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, has stated that the United States will inevitably leave the Middle East and that Israel's "days are numbered." His remarks were reported by Iranian media and also posted on his social media account on September 29, 2026.
Azizi asserted that Iran and its neighbors would ultimately remain in the region after the US and Israel were gone, adding, "That day will be a day of regret."
Separately, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps spokesperson called President Donald Trump a "big liar" and stated that the US has no choice but to leave the Middle East.
