The French government on Monday failed to persuade student groups to end their protests, as representatives expressed dissatisfaction with the proposals put forth during meetings with Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu and education ministers. Student leaders stated that not all their demands had been met and vowed to continue demonstrations. The government outlined plans to reform the Parcoursup university admissions platform starting in 2028, alongside promises of increased funding for school renovations, an additional 15,000 higher education places, and a reduction in class sizes for first-year high school students. However, university union UNEF indicated these measures were insufficient and that students would remain mobilized.
