Dream Finders Homes is broadening its appeal by introducing Reverie Resort Lifestyle, a new brand extension that offers resort-style amenities in communities without age restrictions. This strategic move targets active empty nesters, particularly Gen X buyers in their 50s and early 60s, who desire a vibrant, amenity-rich community but are not yet ready for traditional age-restricted housing.
David Smith, Vice President of Active Adult at Dream Finders Homes, explained that while the core Reverie active adult offering will continue, the Reverie Resort Lifestyle brand aims to capture an underserved market segment. These buyers are often still working and seek the community and connection of a resort lifestyle, including amenities like pools, fitness centers, social clubs, and walkable trails. The first Reverie Resort Lifestyle community is slated to open in Parker, Colorado.
This strategy aligns with a broader trend in the homebuilding industry, with companies like PulteGroup, Taylor Morrison, and Lennar also expanding their lifestyle-oriented community offerings. The active adult segment is considered resilient, with many buyers possessing significant home equity and a desire to downsize and enjoy a high-quality lifestyle, regardless of broader economic conditions. Homebuilders are also noting that these communities can generate stronger profit margins due to fewer required incentives.
