Discord announced on Tuesday that it will enhance the searchability of its public communities, allowing some conversations from eligible public servers to be found on the internet. This feature, set to roll out starting November 16, aims to extend the reach of Discord communities beyond the platform itself by creating web pages for discoverable servers and potentially including selected messages in search engine results by mid-December. Server administrators will have control over which channels are included, and individual users can opt out of making their messages publicly searchable. Notably, the discoverability option is off by default in several regions due to legal restrictions, and teen users are excluded.
