Kinahan, 49, appeared in court on Monday facing charges of directing the activities of a criminal organisation between October 18, 2015, and April 6, 2017. He was arrested in the UAE in April and extradited to Ireland on August 9. Kinahan's defence legal team is also seeking an expert to examine digital evidence and information on other international investigations. The prosecution stated that the extradition was related to a single charge with a "complex factual matrix" detailed in a 189-page statement of facts. The book of evidence is expected to be ready by Kinahan's next court appearance on December 21, when he was remanded in custody.
