Compass International Holdings has filed a lawsuit against Alex Vidal, the current president of REMAX, in the Delaware Court of Chancery. Compass alleges that Vidal's move to REMAX violated noncompete, non-solicitation, and non-disclosure agreements he signed while serving as president of Compass's ERA Real Estate brand. The complaint states Vidal agreed to a one-year non-competition covenant and a two-year non-solicitation covenant. Compass claims Vidal had access to sensitive competitive information during his tenure. This is the second attempt by Compass and ERA to enforce these agreements, as a previous suit filed in Texas was dismissed in favor of Delaware as the appropriate venue. Vidal joined REMAX in early September.
