Al Dahra Agriculture Trading (ADAT), part of the Abu Dhabi-based Al Dahra Holding, has finalized a five-year wheat supply agreement with Egypt's General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC). The deal, valued at up to $500 million, formalizes a strategic partnership established in August 2023 and transitions it into an operational arrangement.
The agreement, signed at the Cabinet of Ministers Headquarters in El Alamein, Egypt, establishes the framework for supplying imported wheat to GASC, supported by financing from the Abu Dhabi Exports Office (ADEX). The signing ceremony was attended by Egypt's Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, Dr. Sherif Mohamed Farouk, and Al Dahra's Co-Founder and Managing Director, Khadim Abdullah Al Darei.
ADEX highlighted its role in facilitating trade and strengthening economic cooperation between the UAE and Egypt through innovative financing solutions. This initiative supports the reliable supply of wheat, bolsters UAE exports, and expands their global market presence. Ahmed Al Suwaidi of Al Dahra stated that the agreement signifies operational delivery, long-term resilience, and partnerships crucial for securing essential food commodities.
Al Dahra leverages its extensive experience in supporting large-scale supply requirements, serving over 40 markets globally and maintaining a significant presence in Egypt since 2007, including large private farming platforms. The company combines farming, production, processing, and supply chain capabilities to ensure dependable access to food and feed products. This agreement underscores the strong agricultural cooperation between the UAE and Egypt, emphasizing long-term partnerships focused on operational execution, supply continuity, and sustainable agricultural development.
