Adit Singh, known for his early investment in chip startup Cerebras, has joined Mayfield as an infrastructure partner. Singh, who previously worked at Foundation Capital and co-founded Neotribe Ventures, will focus on investments in hardware, infrastructure software, cybersecurity, and physical AI.
Singh's background in electrical engineering and chip design, which he credits for recognizing Cerebras's potential a decade ago, will be a key asset in his new role. He noted Mayfield's strong semiconductor portfolio, citing investments in companies like Upscale AI and Lumilens, as a significant draw.
The increasing size of seed infrastructure deals also influenced Singh's decision. Mayfield's substantial assets under management allow it to participate in larger seed rounds, a segment Singh aims to target. Mayfield managing partner Navin Chaddha expressed enthusiasm for Singh joining, noting their long-standing relationship and shared board seats.
