Real estate brokerages are rapidly increasing their adoption of artificial intelligence (AI), with a significant decline in those planning to avoid it. A three-year analysis by Delta Media Group found that by 2026, only 1.9% of brokerages have no plans to adopt AI, a sharp decrease from 10.6% in 2024. Similarly, the percentage of firms reporting no AI use has fallen from 24.8% in 2024 to just 3.9% in the current year.
Mid-sized brokerages, defined as those with 101 to 500 agents, have now achieved parity with the largest firms in AI adoption, with both segments reporting 100% agent usage. This indicates that the adoption gap between different sizes of brokerages has effectively closed.
Brokerage leaders are also placing a higher strategic importance on AI. Nearly half (47.6%) rated AI's importance as an 8 or higher on a 10-point scale in 2026, an increase from 28.7% a year prior. The trend shows a clear move towards integrating AI as a core component of business operations.
Furthermore, there is a growing preference for AI capabilities delivered through unified technology platforms rather than standalone tools. The perceived value of all-in-one marketing platforms that incorporate AI and automation reached its highest point in the survey's three-year history, scoring 7.3 out of 10. More than half of respondents (51.5%) rated these integrated platforms an 8 or higher.
Michael Minard, CEO and owner of Delta Media Group, noted that non-adoption was a significant category when the survey began, but it has now become a 'rounding error.' He also highlighted that brokerages are consolidating around partners who can deliver AI as part of a connected platform.
