Colliers, a brokerage firm, is relocating its Washington, D.C. operations to a larger office space in the city's central business district. The firm has signed a 12-year lease for 18,000 square feet at Tishman Speyer's 1919 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, a significant expansion from its previous 12,000-square-foot footprint at 1625 Eye St. NW.
The move, which began on June 1, will consolidate Colliers' brokerage teams along with its engineering, design, and valuation and advisory services into the new location. Colliers Executive Managing Director Matt Gannon stated the new office is intended to foster collaboration, attract talent, and enhance client experience.
The 1919 Pennsylvania Ave. property, built in 1979 and renovated in 2022, is a 299,000-square-foot building that also houses law firms and a wine storage company. Tishman Speyer has expressed satisfaction with its long-standing relationship with Colliers.
Colliers' former office space at 1625 Eye St. NW is owned by a partnership including Greenbarn Investment Group, FarmViewVentures, and Farallon Capital. John Wolf, CEO of FarmViewVentures, indicated that Colliers' departure was due to their need for more space than was available at the prior location.
