Gabon's cabinet has approved a draft supplementary budget for 2026, which includes a significant reduction in total expenditure. The revised budget cuts spending by XAF 863 billion, bringing the total expenditure down to XAF 5,495.2 billion from an initial XAF 6,358.2 billion. This downward revision is attributed to weaker sector performance, leading to a revised economic growth forecast of 4%, a decrease from the previously projected 6.5%. Net budget revenues are also expected to be lower by XAF 879.8 billion compared to the initial budget.
