At least 30 Yemeni government troops were killed in Houthi attacks on military camps in the provinces of Marib and Hadramout, government sources reported. The death toll could rise, according to the sources.
In separate clashes in Hodeidah governorate, 16 government troops were killed and 22 wounded in what officials and medics described as the most violent fighting in years. Yemeni Minister of State Walid al-Qudaimi stated that more than 50 Houthi fighters were killed in these Hodeidah clashes. He noted that the soldiers died defending their land and dignity.
An officer with government-aligned forces in Jabal Dubas reported that Houthi fighters briefly seized positions using snipers, drones, and mortars before government forces launched a counterattack and retook the sites by dawn. This was described as the deadliest Houthi attack in years.
President Rashad Al Alimi spoke with council member Lieutenant General Tariq Saleh to receive an update on the fighting, praising the combat readiness of the National Resistance and calling for continued coordination and heightened readiness against further Houthi attacks.
