Ukrainian drones reportedly struck the Russian cities of Belgorod and Rostov-on-Don overnight on July 27, 2026, according to monitoring channels and authorities. In Belgorod, 12 people were injured, a residential building and 15 parked cars were set ablaze, and a home was partially destroyed. Several multi-apartment buildings also sustained damage. The city of Belgorod is located approximately 27 kilometers from the Ukrainian-Russian border.

Explosions were later heard in the southern Russian city of Rostov-on-Don, reported the Telegram news channel Exilenova Plus. The specific targets hit in both cities remain unclear, and the reports could not be immediately verified by the Kyiv Independent.

These strikes are part of an intensified campaign by Ukraine, which has been targeting military infrastructure deep within Russia and occupied territories to degrade Moscow's war-waging capabilities. In the preceding night, Ukrainian forces reportedly struck a Chornomornaftogaz facility and drone control equipment in Russian-occupied Crimea, as well as a bridge in occupied Donetsk Oblast. President Volodymyr Zelensky had previously confirmed that Ukrainian forces hit a logistics facility in Yekaterinburg and an oil refinery in Russia's Tyumen Oblast on July 25 as part of broader overnight operations.
