Russia launched a drone attack on a busy supermarket in Chernihiv on July 26, killing two people, including a 9-year-old girl, and injuring 25 others. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky described the attack as "a completely cynical drone strike" against a regular supermarket and "a deliberate act of Russian terror that has no military justification." Local authorities stated that a car service station and a warehouse were also attacked. The drone, identified as a Shahed-type Geran-4 and equipped with a video camera, indicated a deliberate targeting of a civilian site in broad daylight, according to the head of Chernihiv regional police. Emergency crews have extinguished all fires. At least three children were among the injured, with three victims hospitalized. Chernihiv will observe a day of mourning on July 27. The city, bordering Russia for approximately 230 kilometers, has frequently faced cross-border attacks.
