Ukrainian defense firm Skyfall has unveiled a new interceptor drone, the P1-SUN JetKiller, designed to counter Russia's jet-powered Shahed drones. The drone was first displayed at the Farnborough International Air Show on July 20.
The JetKiller boasts a speed of up to 370 kilometers per hour (230 mph) and a flight range of up to 30 kilometers (18 miles). It can operate at altitudes up to 9,000 meters (29,520 feet) and stay airborne for 15 minutes, carrying a 500-gram warhead. A key feature is its AI terminal guidance system, designed to detect and engage enemy targets rapidly, even in challenging combat conditions.
Skyfall stated that the JetKiller has successfully intercepted jet-powered Shahed drones during combat testing. Serial production is slated to commence in August 2026, with the company aiming for a monthly output of 50,000 interceptors.
Shahed-type drones, designed in Iran and produced in Russia as the Geran-2, are a significant part of Moscow's strike capabilities, known for their large warheads and extended range of approximately 2,500 kilometers (1,554 miles) at speeds up to 180 km/h (112 mph). Russia has continued to upgrade these drones, with modified jet-powered versions being deployed in mass attacks since summer 2025.
Skyfall, established in June 2022, has rapidly scaled its production. The company is also known for its night-flying Vampire drone and the FPV Shrike drone. In June 2026, Skyfall initiated a strategic partnership with Airbus Defense and Space to enhance Ukraine's aerial defense capabilities.
