Ukrainian defense manufacturer Ukrainian Armor and Czech defense company AviaNera Technologies have signed a partnership agreement to cooperate on producing and supplying engines for Ukrainian missiles and drones. The agreement, announced on June 16, 2026, was signed at the Eurosatory 2026 defense exhibition in Paris. This collaboration aims to expand Ukraine's domestic production of long-range drones and missile systems and deepen cooperation with European defense manufacturers. The partnership covers the development and supply of turbojet and turboprop engines, with plans to increase production capacity, localize technologies in Ukraine, and potentially establish joint ventures. Ukrainian Armor CEO Vladyslav Belbas stated the goal is to create new opportunities for modern engine production for missile and unmanned systems, integrating European technologies and supporting next-generation precision-guided weapons. AviaNera Technologies CEO Pavel Cechal noted that propulsion systems are often a bottleneck and that the company is expanding capacity and seeking localization in key markets like Ukraine. AviaNera Technologies is part of the CSG defense group. This follows recent agreements, including a June 10 memorandum between Ukrainian Armor and MBDA for deep-strike capabilities and counter-drone systems, and a June 12 agreement between Skyfall and Airbus on defense innovation and drone technologies.
