The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on June 24 that Russia has sustained approximately 1,395,790 troops since the full-scale invasion began on February 24, 2022. This figure includes 1,260 casualties reported in the preceding 24 hours.
In addition to personnel losses, Ukrainian military figures indicate substantial equipment destruction, including 12,056 tanks, 24,816 armored combat vehicles, 44,664 artillery systems, and 369,888 drones. The reported losses also encompass 436 aircraft, 353 helicopters, 4,787 cruise missiles, and 33 ships and boats.
Ukraine's General Staff has not disclosed its own casualty figures, citing operational secrecy. However, independent Western analysis, such as reports from the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), suggests that Russian losses are significantly higher than Ukraine's, with estimates of the ratio ranging from 2:1 to 2.5:1. A CSIS report from January 2026 projected Ukrainian casualties between 500,000 and 600,000 from February 2022 to December 2025, with 100,000 to 140,000 killed in action.
Previous reports from June 20 indicated total Russian personnel losses of approximately 1,390,660. The heaviest Russian assaults in the past day were concentrated in the Pokrovsk and Huliaipole directions.
