Ukraine drone attack causes total blackout in Kerch, Crimea

The city of Kerch in occupied Crimea experienced a complete power outage overnight following Ukrainian drone attacks, according to Russian authorities. Ivan Koshel, the Kremlin-installed head of Kerch, announced the blackout on social media, noting that essential services were functioning on backup power while municipal services worked on repairs.

Russia's Defense Ministry reported that 93 Ukrainian drones were intercepted during the night. These strikes are part of Ukraine's broader strategy to disrupt the military and commercial infrastructure supporting Russian forces in Crimea.

In related developments, Ukraine's Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov emphasized Crimea's importance as a military and logistical target, stating it serves as a base for Russian operations. Separately, Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces commander, Robert "Madyar" Brovdi, reported that Ukraine launched a new phase of its maritime drone campaign on July 20, targeting 20 Russian vessels.

Krymenergo, the energy company operating in Crimea, confirmed widespread power supply restrictions and outages across the peninsula, citing the ongoing situation.
