Ukraine is systematically severing ground supply lines to Crimea, aiming to isolate the peninsula and render Russian military operations untenable. Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov stated that Crimea is being deliberately isolated, predicting it will soon become an island. This strategy involves leveraging a significant increase in medium-strike drones, which have a range of 20 to 200 km, to target logistics routes and infrastructure.
Recent attacks include a drone strike on a railway bridge in Crimea and the targeting of road bridges near the North Crimean Canal and in the occupied Kherson region. Fedorov described this as a 'logistics lockdown' program, designed to cut off fuel, ammunition, and troop movements. These actions have reportedly triggered the worst fuel crisis on the peninsula since Russia's annexation in 2014.
Crimean Tatar leader Refat Chubarov has urged Russian citizens who have illegally settled in Crimea since 2014 to leave the peninsula immediately, warning that the Kerch Bridge and land corridor could soon be cut off. He stated that Ukraine's precise strikes on military facilities are intensifying and that the liberation of Crimea is inevitable.
