Iranian state television reported that a railway bridge in northwestern Iran was targeted in a US-Israeli attack. The strike reportedly killed two people and wounded three others, with damage also reported to at least two bridges, railway infrastructure, and a key highway.
According to the deputy governor for security affairs in Isfahan, cited by the state news agency IRNA, the Yahya Abad railway bridge in Kashan was hit. Regional officials quoted by state media indicated that a bridge near Qom and another carrying a railway line in Kashan were struck. Additionally, a highway in northern Iran connecting Tabriz with Tehran was closed after an impact approximately 90 kilometers outside of Tabriz.
The Israeli military stated it had completed a broad wave of strikes targeting "infrastructure sites." In response to threats of attacks on train infrastructure, Iran suspended all trains on the Mashhad and Khuzestan railway lines until further notice. Reports also indicated power outages in parts of Karaj and Fardis following air strikes that affected power transmission lines and a substation.
US President Donald Trump had previously threatened to target Iranian infrastructure if Tehran did not agree to a deal to end the war.
