Pakistan's foreign ministry on Wednesday urged all parties to uphold their commitments under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), a day after U.S. President Donald Trump declared the interim deal reached with Iran last month to be "over."
In a statement, Pakistan's foreign ministry said, "Pakistan urges all sides to uphold their respective commitments under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, which remains an enduring foundation for understanding, mutual respect and shared prosperity for the region and beyond."
Last month, the U.S. and Iran reached a 14-point interim agreement titled "Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America" with the stated aim of halting conflict and opening the Strait of Hormuz.
