A man accused of killing Scottish aid worker Elisabeth Jane Ross and hiding her body in a suitcase has appeared in court in Athens. The suspect, identified as 26-year-old Afghan boxer Sharif Ahmadzai, faces charges of homicide with intent and robbery. Ross, 38, was found in a derelict building on July 18, several days after arriving in Athens to visit friends. Ahmadzai was arrested on Sunday after being identified from surveillance footage near the scene. He has admitted to moving the body but denies the homicide allegations, according to Greek officials. He is also accused of stealing over €10,000 from Ross's bank accounts using her cards. Ahmadzai, who reportedly left Afghanistan after being orphaned as a teenager, previously appeared in court on Wednesday and was assigned a lawyer. His wife, Alaina Hall, reportedly told police she suspected his involvement after he was not home and his phone was tracked to where Ross was staying.
