Israeli airstrikes have killed dozens of Palestinians across Gaza City, with hospitals reporting receiving over 60 bodies by Wednesday afternoon. The Israeli military stated it struck two Hamas fighters and disputed the reported casualty figures.
Simultaneous Israeli airstrikes early Thursday targeted residential apartments across Gaza City, killing eleven Palestinians, including five from the same family, and wounding dozens, according to medical sources. An Israeli drone strike in the Al-Daraj neighborhood killed one Palestinian and wounded three others. Hospitals, including Al-Shifa, received bodies that were dismembered or severely burned.
Specific strikes included one on the Labad Building, which killed five members of the same family, and another in Tel al-Hawa neighborhood that killed a man and his wife. An attack on the Mhanna family home in Al-Shati Refugee Camp injured dozens, and a strike on the Al-Ghoul Building in Sheikh Radwan neighborhood resulted in one death and injuries.
Earlier on Wednesday, more than 80 Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire across the Gaza Strip, with most casualties in Gaza City. At least 20 people died when a strike hit a building and tents sheltering displaced families near Firas market in the Daraj neighborhood overnight, according to first responders. The Hamas-run Civil Defence agency attributed a third of these fatalities to this strike.
The Israeli military confirmed striking two Hamas terrorists but disputed the reported casualty numbers. Israeli tanks and troops continued their advance into Gaza City, which Israel identifies as the last stronghold of Hamas. The Palestinian Red Crescent reported that Israeli military vehicles damaged the oxygen station outside al-Quds hospital in Tal al-Hawa, though the IDF stated no direct strike was conducted towards the hospital.
In a separate development, US special envoy Steve Witkoff mentioned that President Donald Trump had presented a "21-point plan for peace in the Mideast and Gaza" to Arab and Muslim leaders.
