One of the first strikes on Saturday hit an apartment in Gaza City around 2 a.m., killing two sisters, 4-year-old Zina and 14-year-old Lana. Their cousin, Mohammad Safadi, who was wounded in the strike, stated, “I was sitting at home. The rocket fell on us without a warning.”
Later on Saturday evening, three Israeli strikes killed four people and wounded at least a dozen others. One strike hit a house in the Bureij refugee camp, killing three people, including Al Jazeera cameraman Ahmed Wishah. Another strike targeted a group of people in the Muwasi tent camp, killing one and wounding eight. A third strike in Gaza City wounded at least four.
The Israeli military stated it killed Ahmed Wishah in a “precise strike,” asserting that he had been part of Hamas’s military wing and had posed a threat to troops. Israel maintains it targets militants who pose a threat.

The Israeli army also fired a missile at dozens of Palestinians attending a funeral, killing eight and injuring dozens. Further bombardments and gunfire were reported in Gaza City, Beit Lahia, and coastal areas.
The Health Ministry in Gaza reported that, across the Gaza Strip, twelve Palestinians were killed and thirty-seven were injured on Friday, noting that these figures do not include victims under rubble or in areas inaccessible to ambulance crews.
