At least four Palestinians were killed and several others injured in Israeli strikes and shelling across the Gaza Strip early on Monday. An air strike targeted a residential apartment south of Gaza City, resulting in two deaths. Another bombing east of the city struck a gathering of displaced people in front of a water refilling station, killing two others.
On Sunday, ten Palestinians, including six children, were killed at a water collection point in central Gaza's Nuseirat refugee camp. Emergency service officials reported that 16 people, including seven children, were injured in the same incident. Eyewitnesses stated a drone fired a missile at a crowd queuing with empty jerry cans next to a water tanker. The Israeli military said there had been a "technical error" with a strike targeting an Islamic Jihad "terrorist" that caused the munition to fall dozens of metres from the target, and that the incident is under review. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) added that it works to mitigate civilian harm "as much as possible" and "regrets any harm to uninvolved civilians".
Al Jazeera reported that Israeli forces killed at least 92 Palestinians on Sunday, with 52 in Gaza City, targeting residential areas and displacement camps. The outlet also noted that Israel's bombardment killed at least 110 Palestinians on Saturday, including 34 at an aid distribution site in Rafah. Hani Mahmoud, reporting from Gaza City, described a water crisis and people being deliberately targeted while trying to get water.
The UN agency for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA, warned of a sharp rise in malnutrition cases as Israel's blockade of Gaza entered its 103rd day, stating it has not been allowed to bring in humanitarian aid since March.
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) reported treating mass casualty cases at its Rafah field hospital in southern Gaza, admitting 132 patients with weapon-related injuries on Saturday, 31 of whom died. The ICRC stated that the "overwhelming majority" of patients had gunshot wounds and "all responsive individuals" reported trying to access food distribution sites.
