The Israeli army arrested five women activists in the occupied West Bank early Wednesday morning, with the women reportedly working with health committees. Their homes were raided prior to their arrests.
The Palestinian Prisoners' Club identified the arrested individuals as Jamila Abu Dahou and Jamila Kanaan from Ramallah, released prisoners Maysar al-Faqih and Faten Hanaysheh from Nablus, and Etaf Bader from Hebron. The group also reported that 15 other Palestinians were arrested.
Abdul Rahman Bader, husband of 66-year-old Etaf Bader, stated that soldiers entered their Hebron home, requested his wife's ID, and informed her she was under arrest. He was not provided with a reason for the arrest, and soldiers searched their home before taking his wife away in handcuffs and blindfolded.
He expressed hope that the arrest would be temporary and for questioning only, as they did not know where she had been taken.
