Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed responsibility for missile and drone attacks targeting US military infrastructure in Jordan, including the Al-Azraq air base, alleging significant damage to aircraft and personnel. The IRGC also stated it attacked US radar sites in Oman and a military base in Syria, framing the actions as a response to perceived threats and US actions.
Jordan confirmed its air defence systems intercepted several missiles entering its airspace but did not confirm damage to the Al-Azraq air base. Videos circulating on social media appeared to show air defence systems engaging incoming projectiles.
In response to what it described as over 30 IRGC-directed drone attacks in the preceding 72 hours, the US Central Command (Centcom) announced it conducted precision strikes alongside Saudi Arabian Armed Forces against Iran-aligned groups in eastern Iraq. Centcom issued a warning to the IRGC and its "terrorist proxies" to halt such attacks to prevent further US military responses.
