An Iranian official accused the US of hypocrisy, contrasting the swift US conclusion that Iran was responsible for a helicopter crash with the slow investigation into a school attack that killed over 165 children and teachers.
The accusation highlights ongoing geopolitical tensions and differing narratives between Iran and the U.S. regarding responsibility for attacks, potentially impacting regional stability and international relations.
Iranian official Ebrahim Rezaei has accused the United States of exhibiting double standards in its response to international incidents. Rezaei, who serves as the spokesman for Iran’s parliamentary National Security Committee, specifically contrasted the swiftness with which the U.S. attributed blame for a helicopter crash in the Strait of Hormuz to Iran, with the prolonged investigation into a deadly attack on a girls' school in Minab, Iran.
Rezaei stated that within two days, the Pentagon and White House concluded Iran was responsible for the helicopter incident. However, he pointed out that over 100 days have passed since the Minab school massacre, which claimed the lives of more than 165 people, predominantly students aged seven to 12, and the investigation remains ongoing. Iran has attributed this attack to the U.S. and Israel.
Adding complexity to the Minab incident, a U.S. military commander noted last month that the investigation into the school strike was intricate due to its location on an active Iranian cruise missile base.
