Iran's Atomic Energy Organization has dismissed reports of an attack on the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant, stating the facility is safe, stable, and operating normally. The denial comes amid reports of US strikes in the region.

The denial of an attack on Iran's sole nuclear power plant comes amid heightened tensions and exchanges of strikes between the US and Iran, raising concerns about nuclear safety and potential escalation in the region.
Iran's Atomic Energy Organization (AEOI) has dismissed reports circulating on social media alleging an attack on parts of the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant. The organization stated that the facility remains in a fully normal, safe, and stable condition, with all units and installations operating continuously and in accordance with standard operational procedures.
Earlier reports, citing Bushehr Governor Mohammad Mozaffari, indicated that ten US strikes targeted four sites in the southern province, though no casualties were documented. The Bushehr plant is Iran's first and largest nuclear power facility, built with Russian technical assistance.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) confirmed that military strikes had landed perilously close to the facility, including one just 75 meters from the site perimeter. However, the UN nuclear watchdog stated that the plant itself remained intact and was not physically damaged. IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi warned that continued military activity near the plant could cause a severe radiological accident with harmful consequences for people and the environment.
