Drone attack kills one in Russia's Voronezh region, sets warehouses ablaze

A drone attack in Russia's Voronezh region overnight resulted in one fatality and two injuries, according to regional governor Alexander Gusev. Falling debris from the drones triggered fires at two warehouse facilities belonging to an unidentified large company. Gusev stated that Russian air defense units destroyed 17 drones over the city of Voronezh and its surrounding districts. One warehouse fire was contained to an area of 16,000 square meters, while another covering 20,000 square meters was being extinguished by emergency services. Russian online retailer Wildberries confirmed that its logistics facilities in the region had been evacuated as a safety precaution. Gusev described the incident as one of the heaviest drone attacks on Voronezh since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Ukraine did not immediately comment on the events, but it has stated that its attacks inside Russia are intended to disrupt Moscow's war efforts and serve as a response to Russian strikes on Ukrainian cities and infrastructure.
