Leaders from 37 countries, part of the 'Coalition of the Willing,' are set to convene in Paris on Monday, July 13, 2026, to discuss ongoing support for Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is expected to attend the meeting, which is being held ahead of France's Bastille Day celebrations on July 14.
The coalition, initiated in Paris and co-led with the United Kingdom, has grown significantly and will welcome Moldova and North Macedonia as new participants. The meeting at the Hôtel des Invalides aims to reinforce unity and cooperation in supporting Ukraine, building on commitments made at recent G7 and NATO summits, where allies pledged €70 billion in military aid for 2026.
An adviser to French President Emmanuel Macron stated the objective is to demonstrate sustained Western support and counter any assumption by Moscow of "war fatigue." Key discussion points will include enhanced air defence cooperation, the potential licensed production of Patriot missiles in Ukraine, and the establishment of an anti-ballistic missile system.
Regarding security guarantees for Ukraine in a hypothetical ceasefire scenario, French presidency officials indicated that plans for a multinational force, positioned away from front lines, are ready but subject to change given the current outlook for the conflict. These guarantees would also involve "legally binding" bilateral agreements and U.S. participation in ceasefire monitoring.
The Bastille Day parade on July 14 will feature approximately 6,800 service personnel, a notable increase from the previous year, with a significant rise in participating vehicles and aircraft. Nearly 500 service members representing the Coalition of the Willing countries are expected to lead the parade, which will also include aerial displays by the Patrouille de France and allied aircraft, some with Ukrainian co-pilots.
