A Chinese man, identified only by his surname Qin, has survived a harrowing seven-day ordeal adrift at sea in early June. The 39-year-old tourist from Guangxi Zhuang was walking on a beach in Haikou, the capital of Hainan province, on May 27 when he was swept into the water by large waves. During his time at sea, Qin reportedly sustained himself by eating raw crabs and endured hallucinations. He was eventually rescued by two fishermen from Chengmai county in southern Hainan province.
