A convicted child killer, Kyle Bevan, was allegedly stabbed more than 30 times by three fellow inmates in a brutal five-minute attack at HMP Wakefield prison. The Leeds Crown Court heard that prosecutors presented surveillance footage showing Mark Fellows, 45, David Taylor, 64, and Lee Newell, 57, leaving Bevan's cell appearing "satisfied" after the assault on November 4.
Prosecutors stated that Bevan, who was serving a life sentence for the 2020 murder of his two-year-old stepdaughter, was attacked with at least one sharp weapon. The attack lasted approximately four and a half minutes, after which the inmates allegedly moved Bevan to his bed, leaving him to bleed out. He was discovered by prison guards the following morning.
One prosecutor described the scene, noting that the attackers "left him for dead" after placing him in bed, making it appear "as if asleep." The purpose of the attack was reportedly to kill Bevan, who was described as someone who "kept to himself" in prison. Investigators found a folded piece of metal with Bevan's blood behind a TV, and other weapons were discovered in Taylor's cell.
